【Mission】
Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Materials Genome Engineering (referred to “the Center”) is a top-class international innovation platform, supported by Beijing Municipal Government, in order to serve Beijing and national strategy of innovation-driven development.
The Center will refer to and learn from international first-class laboratories about their management modes, recruitment of top-notch talents, training and evaluation methods. The ultimate goal is to establish international top-class research platform for materials genome engineering by gathering top-notch talents, conducting frontier exploration research and cultivating high-level talents.
【Objectives】
Driven by the strategy goal of Two Half on the development of advanced materials, the Center is to build three research and development platforms with four key technologies for national synergistic innovation on material genome engineering, and also to carry out demonstration and application on several key materials.
Within 5 years, the Center aims to improve innovation capability of Beijing city in the materials field, meet the development of strategic emerging industries and provide technical support for the high-end manufacturing industry.
Two Half:the R&D cycle and the cost will be cut to half

Key Materials:Focus on but not limited to high temperature structural materials, high entropy alloys, high strength and high toughness aluminum alloys, high strength steels, battery materials, catalytic materials, photoelectric materials, rare-earth functional materials.

【Organization Structure and Management】
The Center will be set up by University of Science Technology Beijing with a special operating system for personal and scientific affairs via building up a series of policies and regulations, which is in accordance with international practices, for recruitment, management, personal assessment and incentive measures.
The Center is going to recruit key personnels to form competitive research teams by multiple means, e.g., long-term employment, part-time joint position or collaboration research. Internationally competitive pay system will be provided, and leading scientists will be endowed with rights to carry out independent research and employ research associates with flexible budget control.
